Serving children ages 3 through 5.
As children continue to grow and develop, United Services' Early Childhood Special Education Program (ECSE) comes into play. At three years old, children with developmental disabilities or delays enter ECSE through referrals from their school district. Partnerships between United Services and the school districts of Fort Zumwalt, St. Charles, Orchard Farm and Wentzville provide special education and therapeutic services to eligible children.
These services are mainly provided in a traditional preschool classroom setting. In this setting, our Rainbow Connection preschool and ECSE become one. INCLUSION - children with disabilities learning, growing, playing and laughing with their typically developing peers - is the hallmark of this highly successful program.
For more information on the Early Childhood Special Education Program, contact your local school district administrative office or Lesa Johnson at our St. Peters office or Tom Schutzenhofer at our Dardenne Prairie office. Both can be reached by phone at 636-926-2700.
