Exploring the Spectrum 2017 autism conference

2017 Exploring the Spectrum autism conference

The fifth annual Exploring the Spectrum autism information fair will take place Saturday, April 1, 2017, at Spencer Road Library in St. Peters. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Admission is free. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Gretchen Meyer of Mercy health system..The event will also include a panel discussion featuring parents of children with autism. The parents will discuss their experiences raising children with autism, then take questions from the audience.

Dr. Meyer is a neurodevelopmental pediatrician affiliated with Mercy Kids Therapy and Autism Center.  She is one of the leaders of the medical consultation team for autism diagnosis and assessment. Dr. Meyer received her medical degree at St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She is the only physician in the state of Missouri, and one of the few in the country, to be dual-certified in neurodevelopmental pediatrics and applied behavioral analysis (ABA).

Exploring the Spectrum will include two breakout periods. Therapists from United Services for Children will present 30-minute workshops on topics designed to assist families of children with autism.
Autism service providers, advocates and healthcare organizations will have information tables with representatives to speak with the public, providing an invaluable resource for helpful contacts and autism information.
