United Services is NATIONALLY ACCREDITED! THE Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission (CARF) bestowed the highest accreditation standard to United Services in the Spring of 2005—a three year accreditation. This is our fifth consecutive three-year accreditation. Their purpose? To review the agency’s policies, procedures and programs as they relate to improving the quality of our rehabilitation services.
The CARF accreditation process offers agencies like United Services the ability to look within, to constantly improve programs and services. CARF establishes common program expectations, and focuses on services designed to meet the needs or people with disabilities and others in need of rehabilitation.
Also, in the Spring of 2002, the agency received great news. United Services was awarded national accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). We are only one of several early childhood programs in St. Charles County to receive this honor.
NAEYC Accreditation is completely voluntary. Management and Board of Directors felt it was a vital step in our growth to show we consistently meet national standards of excellence.
Our friends at NAEYC say it best. “The heart of NAEYC accreditation focuses on the child’s experience,” says Barbara Willer of NAEYC. “The greatest emphasis is on the child’s relationship with the staff and how the program helps each child grow and learn intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.”
NAEYC is the nation’s oldest and largest organization of early childhood professionals dedicated to the improvement of quality early childhood education. We’re very proud to be part of the NAEYC family!
